Verruca needling is carried out painlessly, under a local anaesthetic which is used to numb the affected area.
Once both the patient and the podiatrist are happy the area is sufficiently pain free, a fine needle is used to puncture the verruca lesion multiple times. The goal is to implant the infected cells deeper in to the tissue where it is quickly detected by the immune system and as a result an immune response is stimulated. Results are normally seen after one treatment.*
*A course of two to three appointments are normally required.
